It’s just a number but it’s a big one. This is the 35 year anniversary of the family-owned and operated Grand Ole Creamery & Grand Pizzeria. It is Minnesota’s first and longest-standing premium gourmet ice cream shop in the Twin Cities. We have over 300 recipes created for our customers and often from our customer’s suggestion. From Black Hills Gold to Sweet Cream, we serve flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Our fresh natural ingredients come from local dairies and suppliers. Near the home of the creative writer F. Scott Fitzgerald, this family-friendly place has been a favorite meeting spot for our community. Many celebrities have visited the Creamery for dessert over the years when in town performing or making films. It has been recognized with many awards and has been voted in the top ten favorites at the State Fair.
Ten years ago the Creamery added New York-style artisan pizza to its menu. The pizzeria also features hot hoagies, calzones, and fresh delicious salads as well as an award-winning gyro. Now celebrating 33 years in business, The Grand Ole Creamery (est. 1984) was the first retail ice cream parlor in St. Paul to manufacture and serve super-premium ice cream and other delicious treats, including our famous sweet-smelling, homemade, hand-rolled, malted waffle cones with a whopper in the bottom of each cone.A favorite of Twin Cities’ locals, the line forms out the door and down the sidewalk during beautiful Minnesota summers. We now have a location near Lake Nokomis off Cedar Ave to cool off at after a hot sunny day at the beach. Don’t be intimidated by the line. It moves fast and eager ice cream eaters usually strike up interesting conversations while deciding which of the 31 flavors offered each day they’re going to eat.
